ARMED with chamois leathers and sponges, Brackley Ambulancemen foamed their way over 100 cars during a weekend in December 1984 to raise money for the Ethiopia Appeal.
Cleaning the cars inside and out, the Ambulancemen collected donations from their many satisfied customers which were sent to a Yorkshire Ambulance Station as part of the nationwide effort by the Ambulance Service, then on to help the victims of the Ethiopian famine.
The Ambulancemen, with the help of some Round Table members, managed to raise some £250 with this event held at Brackley Ambulance Station.

The 214 watches were found by two men clearing up at the market in December 1979, and as the rightful owner could not be traced, and no evidence could be found to prove that the watches were stolen, the Court decided that they should be auctioned and the proceeds go to the Hospital League of Friends.
