THE coveted title of 'Family Pub of the Year 1989' was scooped by The Green Man Inn at Brackley Hatch, near Syresham and Gordon and Diane Bradshaw received this top national award from promoters Schweppes in February 1990, along with their prize - a holiday to Egypt flying by Concord.
Gordon had bought the hotel and restaurant on the busy A43 at Brackley Hatch four years previously, recognising the need for a pub catering for all the family.
He started by increasing the car parking spaces, the one acre garden became a 'child's play haven', and the Victorian style conservatory extension to the grill room formed another attractive but more informal dining room to the two traditional dining rooms already in place.
The presentation was attended by Coco-Cola and Schweppes Area Sales Manager John Horseman.

Three of the children have a clear record for over two years, whilst one of the scholars, who entered the school nine and a half years ago, has been present on every occasion when the school was open.
