OVER a century previously, Blakesley Show began as a small affair for local farmers and their families to have a day off and show off their animals.
And that basic idea had hardly changed over the decades when farmers and the public flocked to Blakesley Show in 1986.
Top showjumpers, the best beef and dairy cattle, top grade sheep, they were all there when the show got underway in August 1986.
Stowe farmer, Richard Hilsdon, showed the family's dairy cattle to great advantage, taking five firsts and two championship trophies.
When all the bills had been paid surplus profits from the show were distributed among local charities.
