THE pony express was still around in Tingewick in 1978.
That was how parish clerk, Carole Vine delivered the agendas for the parish council meeting to councillors' homes each month.
On her Welsh cob, Micky, she was a familiar site hoofing it around the village.
Micky did the rounds so often he knew the way, and the houses where he was likely to get a tasty titbit in the shape of a carrot.
She even used to ride him into Buckingham sometimes to deliver the agenda to the Advertiser offices.

...WHITFIELD villagers will be attending their own church on Sunday for the first time since it was closed six years ago 'pending repairs'.
...THIS summer a dream has come true for Steeple Claydon's anglers. When the coarse fishing season starts next week the village's anglers will have a new venue - Jubilee lake. Sited near Three Bridge Mills, Twyford, the new lake is in fact two old lakes combined.
