IT'S the big compost giveaway this weekend and residents in Bicester will be able to get their hands on the good stuff at two special events.
Cherwell District Council has been celebrating Compost Awareness Week this week and local waste management company, Agrivert, are making 600 free bags of compost available at events in Banbury on Saturday and Kidlington on Sunday.

Residents attending the events can also enter a prize draw to win a free compost bin or free water butt while CDC's recycling trailer will be on hand with staff handing out recycling and composting leaflets and giving advice.

Gabi Kaiser, from the council's recycling team, said: "This is an opportunity for us to say thank you in a small way to our residents for their excellent efforts in supporting Cherwell's successful recycling scheme."

Saturday's event will be at Bodicote House, from 9am to 3pm and Sunday's event will be at Exeter Hall, on Oxford Road, from 9am to 3pm.
