GOLFERS got into the swing of things in the name of charity fundraising.
Bicester Country Club in Chesterton hosted a golf day on Saturday, May 3, to raise vital cash for charities of Bicester mayor John Cozens' choice.
Dozens turned out to drive and putt their way to a total just shy of £1,000 which will add to a pot of money raised throughout Cllr Cozens' year in office to be distributed among several worthy causes.
Cllr Cozens, who passes on his chains of office on Monday, said: "It was a good, fun day and we raised a good amount for the charities. We had support from lots of companies and some great prizes for nearest the pin and other such games."
The causes to benefit will be the Green Gym, which helps elderly people exercise and promotes environmental care, Bicester Citizens' Advice Bureau, and Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers (SERV), a group of motorcyclists who help deliver blood and vital organs in emergencies in Oxon.
