BICESTER'S eco-town is to receive a £9.5million cash boost for several projects.
A new sixth form building, affordable homes, measures to promote walking and cycling in Bicester and a demonstration eco-home are some of the schemes earmarked for investment from the cash boost.

Cherwell District Council put forward a bid for the money last year when it was announced Bicester was one of five selected eco-town locations in the country.

The money will also help towards the development of a master plan and early public consultation.

Further cash is expected to be allocated to Bicester in the next financial year - with up to £6 million potentially available.

Michael Gibbard, councillor for planning and housing at CDC, said: "This money will help us turn our aspirations for Bicester into a reality."
