LOVE will be all around in Bicester this week when Bicester Vision launches the 'Love Bicester' bag just in time for Valentine's Day.
The jute shopping bags, which have been funded by a grant from Oxfordshire County Council, are part of a programme of activity to make the town plastic bag free. You will be able to pick up a free Love Bicester bag when you buy anything from the Bice
ster Farmers' Market on a Thursday or the weekly Friday market.
Bicester Vision's partnership manager Rachel Faulkner said: "We'd like people to give their town a bit of love and we want to give them the tools to do that. We're also very keen to support local farmers who have been having a tough time during this cold spell. If you can come down to the Farmers' Market on Thursday and show your support, we'll give you a free high-quality trendy-looking bag that you can use over and over again.
Bicester Vision, formed in late 2007, is an independent public/private partnership committed to bringing together all three tiers of local government with key business representatives in order to work towards the most positive future for the town.
As well as the bags you can also find out more about the Love Food, Hate Waste campaign and pick up a free recipe book with ideas for using leftover food. You can also get more information about the district council's new food wastes scheme and how you can turn your waste into useful compost.
