Police are appealing for witnesses after a series of burglaries in the Cherwell area on Thursday(25/2).
The first burglary happened between 11.30am and 10.30pm at a property in Waverley Avenue, Kidlington, where burglars forced their way into the property and stole cash and jewellery.

The next burglary was at Price Close in Bicester, shortly before
6.55pm, where burglars forced their way into a house through a rear patio door and stole jewellery, including a string of pearls and a silver watch.

Witnesses saw two men leaving the property. They are both described as white and around 5ft10ins tall.

The first man was wearing a green quilted jacket, blue jeans and white trainers. The other man was wearing a black baseball cap, a dark-coloured or black top, blue jeans and white trainers.

The third incident happened at 7.10am at a property in Graham Road, Bicester. A 77-year-old man returned home and heard some noises coming from the rear of his house. When he went to investigate, he discovered his patio door had been smashed, but no one was there.

Det Insp Steve Duffy said: "We believe at this time that these offences are linked and I would urge anyone with information to come forward and speak to us.

"I would also urge people to be vigilant to this type of offence and ask them to keep their eyes open to anyone acting suspiciously.

"If you have any concerns about anyone or any suspicious vehicles, then please do not hesitate to contact us via the 24-hour Thames Valley Police Enquiry Line on 0845 8 505 505, or 999 if you see a crime taking place.

"People should never hesitate to give us a call and let us know."
