WOMEN wanting to have a go at football can now do so thanks to new sessions being offered in Bicester.

Cherwell District Council is working with Bardwell Football Club, Return 2 Sport and the Oxfordshire Football Association to put on free women's football taster sessions.

They will be held on Tuesday nights for ten weeks from May 19 at the recently refurbished Bicester Leisure Centre. Starting at 7.15pm, the sessions last for an hour.

Vicky Bonham, women and girl's football development officer at Oxfordshire Football Association said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for any female who wants to learn a thing or two about football in an environment away from competition.

"Players will learn the basics, as well as new skills and have a chance to complete a level 1 coaching course for women later on in the year, absolutely free."

Anyone wanting to have a go just needs to wear a tracksuit or comfortable clothes, and trainers - and don't forget to bring a drink.

For more information contact Cherwell District Council's Daniel Cliffe on 01295 221719 or Bardwell Football Club's Karen Burge 07791 180930.
