CHILDREN at the Little Oaks Pre-School in Brackley are looking forward to new books and play equipment after raising more than £1,500 during their annual summer fete.
Wendy Willie, a member of the Friends of Little Oaks Committee, said 169 adults paid to enter the fete while their children entered for free. She added: "We were lucky with the weather, we were really busy.

It was just a fantastically successful day enjoyed by children and adults alike."

Visitors enjoyed a variety of stalls and amusements including 'knock the can off a pole,' hook-a-duck, a bouncy castle, face painting and a barbecue.

Members of the fire and ambulance services were also present, giving visitors tours of their fire engine and ambulance.

Mrs Willie thanked everyone who helped organise the fete and local firms De Boer, Waitrose, Faccenda and Honda for the prizes they donated to the raffle.
