THE opening week of the 13th Brackley Music Festival has been hailed a great success.
The first few days of the fortnight-long festival were graced by sunny weather and packed concert venues, as well as excellent performances from local and nationally-known artists.

Cllr Blake Stimpson, chairman of the festival committee, said he was amazed by the talents of groups and musicians performing over the opening weekend on June 27 and 28.

Tonight, Friday, visitors can hear the madcap Cosmic Sausages' musical tour of the world in Brackley Town Football Club from 7.30pm.
Tomorrow, Saturday, '60s bands Union Gap and The Fourmost will appear at the football club in Churchill Way from 8pm onwards.

Sunday will bring an evening concert by the popular JKT Trio, while the following week will offer music by folk band Scarecrow, Magdalen College School students, the Daniel Smith Band, the Northampton Festival Orchestra and the 6PAC Jazz Sextet.

Visit the website www.brackleymusicfestival. co.uk for more information. Concert tickets vary in price, and are available from Brackley Town Hall or from Brackley Tourist Information Centre.
