BROWNIES from Maids Moreton returned to Stowe Landscape Gardens last month to check up on a tree they planted during the Queen's visit in November last year.
The 2nd Maids Moreton Brownies had planted a young Scots Pine during the visit and returned to check up on its progress before taking part in a number of outdoor activities organised by Barry Smith, head gardener at Stowe and Catherine Winn, learning and interpretation officer. The tree has grown 1ft since last year.

Mrs Winn said: "The gardens at Stowe are delightful this time of year and the Brownies thoroughly enjoyed their evening walk collecting fallen fir cones and other memorabilia."

Hilary Jones, leader of the Brownies, said: "All Brownies had a fantastic, fun and interactive evening and the unit has donated funds to the National Trust with which to purchase another tree."
