BRADFORD and Bingley branches in Buckingham and Bicester are set to remain open following the bank's takeover by Abbey and the Government this week.

On Monday, the Government announced the stricken bank's branches and saving accounts would become the responsibility of the Santander-owned Abbey while the remainder of the business, including its mortgages and headquarters would be nationalised.

A statement on Bradford and Bingley's website said it would be business as usual for the mortgage lender and urged its customers to continue their banking as normal.

Buckingham's branch is on West Street while the Bicester branch is on Sheep Street. The decision comes following the bank's financial difficulties.
