STAFF at businesses across Bucks were invited to take part in National Liftshare Day on Monday.
The travel choice team at Bucks County Council encouraged people to share a car with a work colleague in the hope they would think more about the benefits of lift sharing. They point to the advantages of keeping down travel costs, cutting exhaust emissions, and reducing congestion and pollution in the local area.

Valerie Letheren, cabinet member for transportation at BCC, said: "National Liftshare Day is a great opportunity to promote the benefits of car sharing. We recognise that catching a bus, walking or cycling is not always viable for those having to take longer journeys, but registering on BucksCarshare can save you time, money and the environment."

Anyone wanting to carshare can visit the website www.buckscarshare.co.uk and register their journey.
