AN application for a new 700-home estate in Buckingham was submitted last week.
The proposal, put forward by developers Hallam Land Management, is for a parcel of land south of the A421 and east of the A413, across the road from the Badgers estate.

Outline plans have now been sent to Aylesbury Vale District Council after bein
g presented in a public display at the Old Town Hall some weeks ago. More than 100 people viewed the proposals, which include a new primary school, land for employment use, healthcare facilities, cycle and pedestrian routes and landscaping.

Cllr Warren Whyte, chairman of Buckingham Town Council's planning committee, said: "I hope they have taken on board some of the town's comments because I know quite a few were made at the presentation." He added: "The committee will be looking at the application in great detail at our next meeting."

Members of the public are welcome to attend Buckingham Town Council's next planning committee meeting from 7pm onwards on Monday, November 3.
The proposed development site stretches from services adjacent to the Tesco roundabout in the west to the Page Hill roundabout in the east, and its southernmost tip extends just south of Benthill Farm.

The site covers almost 78 acres, with around 50 acres devoted to housing in the plan. A proposed 120-place primary school would occupy a three-acre site, and around four acres could be devoted to employment land. Nearly 10 acres could be set aside for play areas and sports pitches.

Other proposals include new drainage and a water detention basin, new roads, cycle and pedestrian routes, and parking.

Members of AVDC's development control committee are expected to discuss the application by the end of December.
