FREEMASONS have donated £2,500 to Buckingham Hospital to put towards new equipment.
The Grand Union Masonic Lodge recently presented a cheque to Lesley Suggate, chair of the League of Friends of Buckingham Hospital.

The money will be spent on a vital signs monitor for ward use in the hospital, a new elliptical exercise trainer and a skeleton on a stand.

Colin Cruse, Master of the Grand Union Lodge which meets in Bletchley, said: "With many of our members from Buckingham and the surrounding area, we wanted to support at least one worthy local cause and Buckingham Hospital came immediately to mind."

The money came from the lodge's charitable funds with the lodge applying for a top-up from the Bucks Masonic Centenary Fund. Freemasons around Bucks subscribe to the fund, which aids local non-Masonic charities.

Lodge members were later given a guided tour of the hospital.
