A ROBOT with a message about recycling spread the word to pupils from Thornborough Infants and Maids Moreton Primary Schools last week.
Recycler the Rapping Robot came to Thornborough Village Hall on Tuesday last week to help teach children about the importance of recycling and about the three Rs – reduce, reuse and recycle.

Biddy Howard, headteacher of Thornborough Infants School, said: "The show was just fantastic and it was a clever way of spreading the message.

"The classes have talked about recycling as a topic, but to have a robot come out really inspired the children."

Recycler gave examples of how to put the three Rs into practice at home and school and also performed a rap. The robot has been touring schools across Bucks as part of Bucks County Council's Rethink Rubbish at School waste education programme.

Cllr Martin Tett, chairman of the joint waste committee, said: "Currently Buckinghamshire produces 270,000 tonnes of household waste a year, much of which could be recycled.

"Recycler is a fantastic resource to educate children about recycling in a fun and interactive way. It is a great way for them to remember these important messages and take them home."
