A PUBLIC vote could help someone from the Advertiser and Review region take their first step towards the life of a pop star.
For the last few months local businessman David Hall has been touring the country with his unique Rockhopper mobile recording studio, housed
in a spectacular American Airstream Caravan, recording possible stars of
the future.
The hunt for the next pop sensation has taken the Rockhopper to Birmingham, Manchester, Swindon and it even spent five days recording music devotees at Glastonbury.
Recording sessions were also held in Buckingham, Brackley and Towcester and the time has now come to choose the five best artists or bands out of 21 who have recorded at those sessions.
The final five will be chosen via a text vote to compete against each other at the regional final at Buckingham's Community Centre in September.
The winner will go on to compete in a national final against other regional winners on a date to be decided.
This week and next week the Advertiser and Review will print pictures, short profiles and details of how to listen to each artist's recording and how to vote for your favourite in the paper.
The studio also plans to pick a couple of wild cards entries for the September final.
The winner of the national final will be given a four song EP deal, plus
state-of-the-art record software and the right to call themselves the
Advertiser Talent Tour Winner of 2010.
Mr Hall said: "The competition mixes public votes with live performances, it's the best of both worlds.
"Artists get personal audio and video recordings as well as the opportunity to play in front of a panel of judges and hopefully a receptive audience.
"They will be given a legacy, people will be able to watch the videos for years to come and this could be their chance to be discovered."

For a few years now Marchy has been picking his brain on how to stomp his foot in the game. He began writing at the age of 16 where he simply just wanted to rhyme and be lyrical.
