HOMEOWNERS in Buckingham have seen the value of their houses soar by nearly a third over the past 12 months, according to a new report.
Published by mortgage lenders, Halifax, the report states that house prices in the town jumped by a massive 28% during 2006, with the average price rocketing from £230,000 at the end of 2005 to £293,000 by the end of last year.
But this week the town's estate agents said that while house prices have significantly increased over the past 12 months, they believe the percentage increase was more likely to be around 10% rather than the figures quoted in the report.
