VOLUNTEERS have helped collect wood for the town's bonfire, while assisting local wildlife at the same time.
The Friends of the Railway Walk were joined by members from the Round Table and ground staff from Buckingham Town Council in spending last Saturday morning clearing away fallen and dead wood and coppicing trees to promote new growth.

Some trees were also cut back to allow more light onto the woodland floor, and heavy older branches were thinned out. All the wood collected was taken to Bourton Park and added to the town's bonfire pile in time for that evening's festivities.

Alex Vinall, from the Round Table, hired a van from Practical Van Hire with ground staff from the town council transporting six loads of wood on a quad bike and trailer.
