FRIDAY, JULY 4
  • SILVERSTONE, Santander F1 2008 British Grand Prix, today to Sunday.

  • BRACKLEY, Southfield School Summer Fair from 3.30pm to 5pm, various attractions.

  • BUCKINGHAM, The Film Place are showing The Lady Vanishes at 8pm at the Ian Fairbairn Lecture Hall, Chandos Road Building, University of Buckingham.

  • MAIDS MORETON, Annual Village Barbecue in the grounds of St Edmund's Church from 6.30pm onwards, all villagers invited.

  • WESTBURY, Disco/Elvis Party at the Reindeer Inn.


  • SATURDAY, JULY 5
  • WHITFIELD, fete and barbecue in the garden of the Old Rectory from 2pm, entry £1, proceeds in aid of St John the Evangelist Church.

  • CROUGHTON, All Saints CE Primary School Family Fun day from 1pm to 4pm at the school, many activities, adults 50p, children free.

  • GREAT HORWOOD, Church Fete from 1pm to 5pm in the grounds of Great Horwood School.

  • LAUNTON, Launton School Summer Fayre from 2pm to 4pm, various activities.

  • PADBURY, July Jig (village barn dance) at Sunny Hill Farm, Old End at 7.30pm, tickets £5, £3 for children under 16, £15 for a family, 01280 816203.

  • YARDLEY GOBION, Open Gardens weekend today and Sunday, from 1.30pm to 5.30pm both days, 12 gardens will be open, £4 adults, children free, details 01908 542322, there is also a Flower Festival in church.
