BUCKINGHAM'S Inner Wheel looked back at a year of fundraising success after welcoming a new president.
Outgoing president Heli Aslett handed the presidential chain of office to Olwen Jenner at the group's recent AGM at the Buckingham Hotel, and wished her well for the forthcoming year.

Mrs Jenner said she was honoured to accept the role and nominated the Thames Valley and Chiltern Air Ambulance as this year's presidential charity.

She added: "I wish to encourage all that Inner Wheel stands for: friendship, personal service and international understanding."

Achievements over the last year included fundraising for several local charities, as well as the British Retinitis Pigmentosa Society.

And in addition to the usual annual donations of toys, clothes, food and shoes, a substantial sum of money was raised for children's charities in Gambia and Croatia.

Activities over the next year will include fundraising soup lunches and a supper dance. The group will also try to retain the first place won in last year's Buckingham Christmas Parade.
