A BUCKINGHAM man who founded a company supplying self-service ice cream bars has won a top entrepreneur's award.
Pete Phillips, from London Road, who founded Incredible Ice Cream Company around a year ago, was presented with the International Special Events Socety's Entrepreneur of the Year Award earlier this summer.

Mr Phillips was chosen as top entrepreneur for the outstanding way he has managed the company in its first year.

He said: "It's been hard, but well worth it when you look at the number of events we've done. And it's brilliant to have the work recognised by winning an award like this – especially when it comes from such respected people in the industry."

The Incredible Ice Cream Company's distinctive self-service bars have served frozen treats at more than 100 events across the country in the past 12 months, from Knockhill in Scotland to the Isle of Wight.

Guests can take their pick from a range of ice cream flavours, dispense the ice cream into a cup or cone, and choose from toppings including chocolate fudge sauce and sweet strawberry swirl.

The fledgling firm has also recently introduced a new bar, dubbed the Warhol, to appeal to older customers.

Mr Phillips said: "We call it the Warhol because the colour scheme reminded us of one of his paintings. It's still massively colourful, but we think it's a little bit more grown-up than some of the others – not just for kids.

"We've been getting such amazing reactions from adults, we wanted to create something that would work in a slightly more sophisticated environment."
