Winslow Centre Tea Dancers
OUR summer session is in full swing and we are happy to have welcomed new dancing friends during this time.
Recently, we had a surprise visit of a photographer from the Advertiser & Review and are looking forward to seeing the results in the Your Generation supplement due out on September 26. Hoping we look as good in the photo as we think we are!
The next dancing date is a very special one, tomorrow, Saturday, at 2pm at the Winslow Centre when we will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the tea dances here.
We are hoping our friends who have not been able to attend for a while will join us in this celebration and anyone else interested in a Saturday afternoon dance.
This is an extra dance meeting to our regular Monday sessions (1.45pm to 4pm) in recognition of the past 10 years and learning to dance and making new friends.
We thank the centre staff for all their help and we are looking forward to many more Monday afternoon dances at the Winslow Centre when we enjoy our welcome tea breaks.

Band Jam
LAST Thursday's Band Jam was headlined by Towcester band The Bromptoms.
The band, who have been performing together for over three years, entertained the enthusiastic audience with a lively set of both their original material as well as some classic covers.
The band, comprising of Wes Manning (guitar and lead vocals), Ed Key (drums), Chris Miller (guitar and backing vocals) and Andrew Miller (bass), performed original material such as She's A Machine and Face For Radio.
The highlight of this energetic performance was an inspired cover of Roadhouse Blues which reached number four in the US chart in 1970 for the Doors. Next up, the audience were treated to a set by Band Jam first- timers Dirty Voice.
This Oxfordshire band have only been performing together for a short while but will be taking part in the Surface Unsigned competition next year.
The evening also featured a performance from Band Jam regulars Lion Sex.
Please join us for Band Jam at the Grand Junction next Thursday at 8.30pm.

Buckingham Probus Club
THE Probus Club met for its monthly meeting and it was announced that £3,000 had been raised at a Garden Party held at the home of the president, Colin Richardson, since we last met.
This sum has been donated to the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance service who desperately need funds since a new and larger aircraft has now been acquired to fulfil the urgent needs of our community.
Members spent some two to three hours over lunch with fellowship – the emphasis being on humour with a very relaxed atmosphere and over 30 members were in attendance despite many being away on holiday.
This being the first meeting of the new year after the AGM, and all new officers 'feeling their way', the event was a great success, even without a speaker.
The club meets at lunchtime on the second Tuesday of the month at the Old Thatched Inn, Adstock.
