Bicester’s new £70m town centre starts taking shape

STEEL framework for Bicester’s new Sainsbury supermarket went up this week.

Demolition is complete, excluding the old public toilets, Fitness First, and the former Millets unit.

Paul Tyler, Sainsbury’s project manager, said he looked forward to opening the store next summer. The redevelopment will also create an Apollo multiplex cinema.

Councillor Norman Bolster of Cherwell District Council joined Mr Tyler and Apollo Cinemas director Gerry Tait at the unveiling yesterday, Thursday. An redevelopment information hotline is available on 08456 048853.
