Bicester Tesco expansion approved
Plans to create a new larger Tesco store in Bicester have been approved this afternoon.
The food store, with an eight-pump filling station and 600 parking spaces, would be built on a site south-west of Bicester Village, next to the A41.
Members of Cherwell District Council’s planning committee approved the plans unanimously, despite a warning from rival Sainbury’s that it may not fit out its new town centre supermarket if the Tesco application was approved.
The Tesco plans are part of proposals to expand Bicester Village, develop a large business park, and create a new congestion-busting road layout.
