A WHADDON photographer who has snapped royalty and prime ministers has been honoured by the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP).

Nigel Lazaro, 48, was presented with a 25-year long service award last week by the BIPP.

Mr Lazaro, who has been a professional photographer since he was 18, has photographed the likes of the Queen, Prince Philip and former prime minister John Major.

He said: “I started out at what was called a social photography company, which meant we shot anything and everything from weddings and portraits to events and private occasions.

“The strangest job I’ve ever been on has to be being asked to photograph a deceased relative by a polish family early in my career.

“It’s a common tradition in Polish culture but it was quite a strange experience for me as a young photographer!

“For the last ten years I’ve owned and run Venture Photography studio in Milton Keynes working with a fantastic 11-strong team.

“It’s been great to have photographed thousands of families over the years and I still get a real thrill when I see client’s reactions to our work.”

BIPP chief executive Chris Harper said: “Members are the lifeblood of the BIPP, and your continued support has helped shape the Institute into a thriving organisation, providing support to, and developing, professional photographers.”
