Rebrand for conservation volunteer organisation

A CONSERVATION group active in Buckingham for many years has changed its name for a second time.

BTCV, once known by its full name the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, has now renamed itself The Conservation Volunteers.

The original name was too long-winded and complicated, the group said, while the acronym was too easily muddled.

The new name was introduced on May 1.

A new website has been created at www.tcv.org.uk.

The Conservation Trust, then known as BTCV, ran the Buckingham Community Wildlife Project from 2004 to 2010. It still hosts regular community events in town.

The national organisation has been active for more than 50 years.
