Golden year for Bicester dancers

STUDENTS from Bicester Dance Academy are celebrating a record haul of gold medals and trophies from the Mid Bucks Festival of Dance.
A total of 15 schools from Bucks, Beds and Oxon took part in the five-day festival in Princes Risborough, which ended on Sunday.
Amelia Morton, seven, won silver and gold medals in the tap solo, as well as winning the tap solo trophy.
Amelia Wyatt, eight, Molly Brown, nine, Lauren Owens, eight, and India Bailey, seven, won silver in the song and dance quartet.
Amelia, Lauren and India also won a silver in the modern dance trio, as did Catriona Neylon, 14, Emma Brown, 13, and Alice Hobbs, 12.
Alice also won gold in the modern solo, gold and a trophy in the tap solo, gold in the song and dance solo, gold in the lyrical solo, and bronze in the ballet solo.
Eleanor Zobel, eight, won silver in the tap solo.
Academy principal Sarah Tree said: “They’ve all worked extremely hard.” She also congratulated students on recent exam success, including Grace Lyne, who achieved her Grade 1 in tap.
