Green light for more coach and car parking at Bicester Village

EXTRA car and coach parking facilities at Bicester Village have been approved by members of Cherwell District Council’s planning committee.

A total of 200 new car parking space were granted planning permission, along with 20 new coach parking spaces and new facilities for coach drivers and staff.

The extra parking spaces, at the far end of the Bicester Village complex, had already been granted temporary planning permission which was due to expire in August 2014.

Oxfordshire County Council, commenting on the plans, said the new spaces would help reduce the current coach parking problems.

It also said the move could help Bicester Village promote coach travel and reduce the number of visitors arriving by private car.

The current coach parking area could become a passenger collection and drop-off point under Bicester Village’s future plans.
