MORE than 50 Rotarians and guests from Buckingham and Winslow attended an event at the Bell Hotel in Winslow.

The Rotary Club of Winslow was founded by the Rotary Club of Buckingham some 30 years ago.

At the joint meeting of both clubs last week, a new member for each club was inducted by district governor John Bromley.

Earlier this month, Winslow Rotary president Tony Pringle donated cheques for more than £3,300 to seven local charities from the Santa Float door-to-door collections, including North Marston Pre-School, Grendon Underwood Combined School and Calvert Green Community Association.

Mr Pringle said “Winslow Rotary Club is delighted to be able to assist a wide variety of local organisations. Each year we donate considerable sums both internationally and in the UK to help individuals and organisations. “
