Children at Field House Day Nursery in Buckingham were thrilled after getting a visit from an Olympic torch.
The torch has been touring the 40 Childbase nurseries across England, and arrived at Field House on Tuesday, August 14.
The torch was one of 8,000 issued to runners who carried the Olympic flame on its epic tour of Britain.
Nursery manager Kellie Seaton said: “We had staff members dressed up as Olympic athletes, including cyclists, swimmers and gymnasts, and the children all got ‘Spirit of the Games’ T-shirts.
“They loved it and thought it was brilliant.”
Children took part in a range of Olympic-style games, including ice and water activities, and a mini obstacle course.
Each nursery in the group had to come up with an imaginative way to deliver the torch to its next recipient.
A team wearing Italian sports kit had carried the torch from Nene Valley Day Nursery to Field House.
Some of the parents at Field House, who are serving police officers, upped the ante by arranging a police escort for the torch.
Police outriders and a car delivered the torch to Willows Day Nursery in Stoke Mandeville three days later.
