Orchestra calls for new players

ADULTS and children who would like an opportunity to play music in public are invited to join the Shelswell Orchestra this year.

For several years, the Shelswell benefice has had a small band of musicians to lead the music at family services in Stoke Lyne on the first Sunday of each month.

Now, the orchestra is inviting any former musicians to dust off their instruments and take up playing again.

Musicians over the age of eight are welcome to join.

Some playing ability is required, although organisers say the music is relatively straightforward.

Potential new members should be prepared to look at the music beforehand as there is usually only one rehearsal before the first Sunday of each month.

A rhythm section is also available for younger musicians.

Contact organiser Jane Singleton on 01869 277357 for more information.
