RSPCA appeal for information after affectionate dog is dumped

editorial image

A dog that was dumped outside an RSPCA rescue centre in Quainton was so thin it was able to squeeze through the bars of a gate.

The small saluki cross was left tied to a gate at the Blackberry Farm Animal Centre on Bank Holiday Monday. The dog, who has been named Aladdin, had been tied to the gate with some old ropes. He was spotted by a member of the public who alerted staff.

Deputy manager Paula Flitney said: “When I approached him, he was so pleased to see me and was wagging his tail, and before I even had chance to open the gates he managed to squeeze through the bars to get to me, because he was so thin. It is heartbreaking to think that such a loving dog has just been dumped by his owner.”

Anyone with any information should call 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for Insp Kirsty Withnall.
