DO you remember what you were doing on the day of The Queen’s Coronation in 1953?

Buckingham Town Council is still looking for people to contribute to its Memory Book for The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Several letters have already been received from members of the public sharing their Coronation Day memories, with stories from people who were stationed with the Army, someone who was part of the crowd in London, and celebrations in Tingewick.

You may not think your story is very exciting, but the town council thinks these memories are worth recording, before they fade. And it is are very keen to record the stories of those for whom writing is now a bit of a trial.

The Memory Book will go on show in the library and then the Old Gaol. The deadline for sending in your memories is March 2. Contact the town council on 01280 816426 or events@buckingham-tc.gov.uk
