BOLD and feminine - that is the look for the spring season according to local clothing retailers.
Flowery prints, bright colours and clothes designed to fit your shape are all in this season, which is turning away from the tunics and the 'bohemian' style of previous years.
Wendy Chaplin, who runs Bliss in Brackley High Street, said yellows and reds were the big colours and there were styles to suit everyone in the clothes shops.
She said: "It is all quite feminine and moving away from shapeless tunics and heading towards girly and floaty dresses which are pretty and colourful. There are quite a lot of floral patterns and bright prints. There is something for everyone - it is quite a mix really. Spring fashion has headed away from the boho look and towards more fitted clothing."
She added people were also getting more adventurous with accessories such as handbags by going for different colours like yellows and pinks.
"People are getting much more adventurous and not just having black and brown. It is all very exciting and much more fun," Mrs Chaplin said.
"There is plenty to keep people motivated."
Beverley Durbin, of No 8 in Winslow, said a lot of clothing companies were going big on ethical clothing such as organic or Fair Trade cotton and were also going for natural and non-toxic fabric dyes.
Citrus tones like lemon and lime colours are also big this season along with soft greys and platinum colours as well as a variety of styles from fitted to floaty.
She said: "We have got a lot of different styles because not everyone likes fitted clothes. We are finding more feminine shapes and have more floaty and flowery styles. Everyone is talking about jackets as well and we have lots of different styles to suit everyone."
