Bletchley Park 1940s festival

The Second World War home of the codebreakers, Bletchley Park, goes back in time with its annual Forties Family Festival on Saturday and Sunday, May 26 and 27.

Last year’s event attracted 3,500 visitors and more than 250 Second World War re-enactors.

The two-day event will feature wartime displays and re-enactment groups, 1940s news reels in the Enigma cinema and lectures about life at Bletchley Park and elsewhere in the war.

A marquee on the lawn will host a 1940s disco with lindy hoppers, as well a 1940s fashion showing fashion, from swimsuits to wedding dresses.

Bletchley Park is set in beautiful parkland with a Victorian Mansion, a lake, wildlife and a children’s play area.
