PERFORMANCES from stand-up comic Seann Walsh and the Oxford Fiddle Group are among the highlights of this year’s Buckingham Fringe Week.

Running from Friday, June 15, to Sunday, June 24, the week of entertainment is funded and organised by Buckingham Town Council.

It kicks off with Buckingham’s fourth Relay for Life at Bourton Meadow School, running from noon on Saturday, June 16, to noon the following day.

Teams will walk laps of the park to raise money for Cancer Research UK, and live music, food, games and entertainment will be available.

Comic Seann Walsh, star of Channel 4’s Stand Up for the Week and BBC One’s Live at the Apollo, can be seen at the Old Town Hall in Buckingham from 8pm on Sunday, June 17. Tickets are £15 from Villiers Hotel in Buckingham and Buckingham Tourist Information Centre in the Old Gaol.

Back by popular demand, the Oxford Fiddle Group will return to the Fringe Week on Wednesday, June 20, with a performance in the Old Town Hall from 8pm.

Those unable to make it down to Stonehenge can welcome the rising sun in Heartlands Park at dawn on the summer solstice on Thursday, June 21.

Later that day, historian Ed Grimsdale will present the spine-chilling tour The Ghosts of Buckingham Past in association with the Buckingham Society. The tour leaves the Old Gaol at 8pm, and tickets are £2.50 from Buckingham Tourist Information Centre.

Fringe Week will end with a young variety show at Buckingham Athletic Sports and Social Club, running from noon to 7pm on Sunday, June 24. Entry is free, but donations will be collected.
