Music brings youth and age together

YOUTH and age came together when pupils and staff of Stowe School played an afternoon of jazz at a lunch organised by members of the Buckingham and District U3A’s two jazz appreciation groups.

The jazz combo consisting of bass guitar, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpet, drums and trombone, led by Dave Richmond, played two sets, from traditional to modern.

During lunch, members were entertained by Miles Nottage on keyboard.

To perform Tequila, they were joined by U3A’s Robin Rowland on maracas and David Hill on sticks.

U3A chairman Bryan Weston-Thomas said: “Members and their partners thoroughly enjoyed the performance and are already talking about the possibility of a repeat performance.”
