Spectacular hit musical is set for five-week run at theatre

TICKETS are now on sale for one of the biggest shows to arrive at Milton Keynes Theatre this year.

Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom Of The Opera had a triumphant opening at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth, in February and is now on national tour.

Overseen by Matthew Bourne and Cameron Mackintosh, the production, starring Earl Carpenter as the Phantom and Katie Hall as Christine, is set to reach Milton Keynes Theatre for a five-week run from October 24 to November 24, .

The Phantom Of The Opera has won over 60 major theatre awards, including seven Tonys on Broadway and three Olivier Awards in the West End.

Meanwhile, Milton Keynes Theatre has announced a summer season full of dance, drama, comedy and musical theatre.

The all-singing, all-dancing romantic comedy West End hit Legally Blonde comes to the theatre from July 31 to August 11.

From June 19 to 30, another musical based on a movie of the same name, Sister Act, stars Coronation Street’s Denise Black and Brookside favourite Michael Starke.

Stars of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace are back by popular demand with Midnight Tango from July 10 to 14, while Danza Contemporanea De Cuba evoke the Cuban spirit on June 6 and 7.

There’s a stylish new production of Agatha Christies’s classic thriller Murder On The Nile, with an all-star cast including Kate O’Mara, Susie Amy and Mark Wynter, from July 2 to 7.

Don’t forget your hanky for the heartwarming, bittersweet comedy Steel Magnolias, from June 11 to 16, with a cast including Kacey Ainsworth, Isla Blair, Cheryl Campbell, Cherie Lunghi, Sadie Pickering and Denise Welch.
