Sell-out show sets standard for Comedy Night success

BUCKINGHAM’S first Comedy Night, in the ballroom of the Old Town Hall, was a sell-out success on Sunday, January 29.
Compere Joe Bor, and support act Welshman Elis James treated people to their own brand of humour before headliner Miles Jupp came on stage.
All three comedians had the audience roaring with laughter. And there was a very positive response at the end of the evening when Miles Jupp asked the audience whether the town should continue putting on Comedy Nights.
The comics were very complimentary about the venue and the audience.
The event was the first in a regular series of Comedy Nights organised by Buckingham Town Council staff.
Town councillor Robin Stuchbury said: “People were very complimentary when they left. It did seem like they had a very good night out. My aspiration is that this would carry on and Buckingham would become a regular place on on the comedy circuit nationally.”
The next comedy night will be on Sunday, March 25, starring Simon Evans. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. Tickets £12.50 (over-18s only) from The Tourist Information Centre at the Old Gaol and Villiers Hotel.
