New cafe in Buckingham for people with dementia

PEOPLE with dementia are invited to attend a new Dementia Cafe at Buckingham Community Centre.

The Dementia Café is run by Alzheimer’s Society staff on the first Tuesday of every month from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

It will be looking at life stories, focusing on a different theme every month and building up a life history for participants. People are encouraged to bring along photos and memorabilia to make their life story.”

The Dementia Café aims to enable people with dementia and their carers to meet others in a friendly and supportive environment, and to access support and information on all aspects of dementia. Light refreshments will be provided. The next one is on Tuesday, February 7.
