Town takes seriously its responsibility to youth

editorial image

WINSLOW Town Council could be set to take over responsibility for the lease of Winslow Youth Centre as well as for the provision of youth services in the town.

The Youth Centre Management Committee had asked the town council to consider the matter after Bucks County Council insisted that responsibility for the building and for provision of youth services must go in tandem.

Councillor Wendy Castle made the request to this month’s town council meeting on behalf of the committee.

She said the enormity of the fundraising required was too much for the committee to take on.

After a lengthy discussion, the town council voted unanimously in principle to progress taking on responsibility for both the lease and the provision of youth services.

It was agreed youth services would then be subcontracted to the Youth Centre Management Committee.
