BICESTER: The difficult lives of livestock drovers passing through the Bicester area will be the subject of a talk at the next meeting of Bicester Local History Society on Monday, January 16.

The talk, entitled Drovers of the South Midlands, will be given by Northamptonshire historian Bruce Smith.

The illustrated presentation will define droving and its importance, and identify drove roads with a particular focus on four local routes. The meeting starts at 7.30pm in St Edburg’s Church Hall in Old Place Yard.
