CHILDREN from Buckingham Primary School attended a celebration event to mark

the completion of a £70,000 project to create a new children’s play area in Overn Avenue, Buckingham.

The youngsters were involved in the design of the new attraction and had their ideas included in the final design, which includes a high slide, nest swing, crawl tunnel and roundabouts.

Chairman of Aylesbury Vale District Council (AVDC) Councillor Derrick Isham joined the children to officially open the new play area.

Overn Avenue is the latest play space in Buckingham to be updated by AVDC, thanks to £50,000 from Section 106 contributions agreed from local developments and £20,000 from the Vale of Aylesbury Housing Trust.

Earlier this year the play area at Stratford Fields was revamped and recently a new play facility at Otters Brook was installed.
