THE Padbury Benefit Society's traditional Feast Weekend takes place from May 24 to 26.
At the Spring Dance in the village hall on the evening of May 24 there will be live entertainment from the professional local duo MU-SO plus a licensed bar, a buffet meal and a raffle.

Tickets, priced £6 for adults and £3 for under 16s, are on sal
e now and are available from Tony Picketts on 01280 816063 or Barry Picketts on 01280 824038.

If you are a member of the society, the clerk, Nic Saint, can provide you with tickets by post.
Events for the rest of the weekend include the parade on Sunday evening by society members accompanied by the Great Horwood Silver Band from the war memorial to St Mary's Church for a service at 6pm and, if weather permits, this will be followed by a short open-air concert outside the Blackbird.
Everyone then goes up to the New Inn for the rest of the evening.

The Feast Day itself is on Monday, May 26 when the committee and club members, together with the Great Horwood Silver Band, meet at Springfields at 9.30am for a tour round the village with various stops en route, finally arriving at the Blackbird at noon and then going to the village hall for the feast itself around 1.30pm.

Profits from the Feast Weekend will this year be donated to the Florence Nightingale House Hospice in memory of Les Burchett, a long-serving member of the Great Horwood Silver Band who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Anyone interested in coming should contact Barry Picketts on 01280 824038.
