NEXT week sees the opening of the 9th Banbury Beer Festival.
Organised by the North Oxfordshire Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, this year's event will be held at the TA Centre in Oxford Road, Banbury, and will offer 90 beers from all over the UK.
This year's featured region is East Anglia, and around a
third of all beers will come from the area. A total of 19 beers will also come from breweries with 30 miles of Banbury.
The managing director of Hook Norton brewery will open the event at 5pm on Thursday, May 7.
Around 20 different ciders and perrys (cider made with pears) will be available for those who like something a little more fruity. This year's event will also see a foreign beer bar.
Thursday evening will offer music by the 5Ways Byfield Barbershop Harmony Club, followed by Morris dancing.
Saturday lunchtime will see more Morris dancing, while the evening will bring the music of local singer-guitarist Paul Canning.
A pig roast will be available from early Saturday lunchtime.
The festival is open Thursday, May 7, from 5pm to 11pm, Friday, May 8, from noon to midnight, and Saturday, May 9, from 11am to 11pm.
Food and soft drinks will be available at all times. Further details can be found at www.northoxfordshirecamra.org.uk
