DEVOTEES of Americana can look forward to a year of great music thanks to Empty Room Promotions.
Founded by live music fans Mike Trotman and Pearse Guina in 2002, Empty Room Promotions has brought big names from the US and UK Americana scene – best described as a fusion of rock,country and folk – to play intimate gigs in the Buckingham area.

ong the greats in this year's line-up is Carlene Carter, stepdaughter of Johnny Cash and daughter of June Carter Cash and Country Music Hall of Fame's Carl Smith.
First up on Saturday, February 6, in the Radcliffe Centre in Buckingham is rising star Diana Jones, whose 2009 album Better Times Will Come gained a great deal of press attention and a slot on Later with Jools Holland. She will be supported by Bedfordshire-based musician and producer Chris Corney, and singer Katie Buckhaven.
On February 26, Pacific North-West band Richmond Fontaine will perform at Tingewick Village Hall. He has released new album We Used To Think The Freeway Sounded Like A River, which gained rave reviews in magazines Q and Uncut.
Carlene Carter will play in the Radcliffe Centre in Buckingham on March 12. Mr Trotman writes: "I am just so excited to have managed to book this legendary performer who is heir to one of the richest musical legacies of all time, and have her play live in Buckingham."
Sarah Borges and the Broken Singles, a fierce young get-up-and-dance band, are set to visit Tingewick Village Hall on April 17.
On May 29, the Kansas City "hillbilly hurricane" group The Wilders will play in the Radcliffe Centre following a sell-out UK tour last year.
And on July 10, Eve Selis will bring a full band to Tingewick Village Hall for what promises to be a roof-raising performance.
