Less than a month remains before the town's biggest celebration of the year, and a bumper line-up of attractions will be laid on to mark the
historic milestone.
Around 50 floats and walking groups are set to be decorated and dressed in keeping wit
h this year's theme of Christmas Magic, and organisers Steve and Rosemary Heywood said a special delegation of 54 visitors and a band from Buckingham's twinned town of Mouvaux will attend to help celebrate the carnival's silver jubilee.
A troupe of 75 cheerleaders from the British All Stars team will also appear for the first time this year, along with enormous Flanders Giants puppets from Mouvaux, a ride-on train, and Buckingham's new Carnival Queen Hannah Frank, who will lead the parade in a horse-drawn carriage.
As in last year's event, the MK Dons mascots Mooey and Donny will run in and out of the crowds, while jugglers and stilt walkers will amaze visitors with their displays of dexterity.
And the acclaimed Devil's Horsemen from Mursley, who have featured in many Hollywood blockbusters, will again be a star attraction.
Children aged five to 12 can ride on Rocky the Train for free throughout the parade, and parents can contact either Rosemary or Steve Heywood on 01280 824404 to book a seat.
Youngsters can also enjoy a small funfair in the square outside Barclays Bank, as well as entertainment from Buckingham's town jester, Sam Cross.
Chandos Road and Station Road will be closed from 9am, and town centre routes will close at 10.30am.
The Carnival Queen and her attendants will switch on Buckingham's Christmas lights next Saturday, November 28, in a ceremony outside the Old Gaol at 6pm.
They are also due to appear at Buckingham Rotary Club's carol service in St Bernadine's Church in Chandos Road, Buckingham, which starts at 8pm on Thursday, December 10.
